Contract type and duration
In July 2000, Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) awarded BAA USA a 12-year contract to manage the retail and catering operations for Boston Logan International Airport's two main terminals (B and E/C). In August 2005, the contract was extended through mid-2016.
Retail
BAA USA is developing and managing the retail concession activities in Terminals E/C and B. The retail area in Terminal B will be approx. 55,000 sq. ft. while in Terminal E/C it will be approx. 35,000 sq. ft.
BAA is investing $8 million (a total of $16 million with subtenants) over the contract term in redeveloping and re-fitting both of these terminals. The retail strategy will focus on developing retail and food and beverage, offering both a local and international flavor.
21 retail outlets and 27 food and beverage outlets are planned for Terminal B. In Terminal E/C the number of retail outlets will be 10, while the number of food and beverage outlets will be 12.
